Trips and Special Events

Camp Laurelwood’s close proximity to the beautiful summer attractions of Connecticut and southern New England provide unique day-trip and excursions.

2nd - 7th Grade Trips

Camp Laurelwood’s second through seventh grade campers enjoy trips to Quassy & Lake Compounce Amusement Parks, a New York Mets game, bowling, mini golf, Laser Tag, Hiking and Biking and more.

8th - 9th Grade Trips

Accompanied by trained staff and a first aid provider, our eighth and ninth grade campers leave camp once each week for an exciting new destination. Trips vary each summer and have included Hamonassett Beach, Six Flags New England and Lake Compounce amusement parks, bowling, laser tag, Brownstone, a New York Mets baseball game, and more.

"The Big O" and "Maccabiah" Games

“The Big O" and Maccabiah Games are long standing Camp Laurelwood traditions featuring three days of intense and fun competitions with relay races, kickball and basketball, sing-downs, cheering competitions and team building activities. The final gala banquet honors captains, generals and team members. The spirited presentation of each team’s winning banners, skits, songs and cheers are the stuff camp dreams are made of!

On Campus Special Events!

Nights are magical at Camp Laurelwood as campers never know what to expect from our creative and imaginative program staff. Some are designated for different divisions and others are camp wide events. Dress the Counselor, Spa Night, Sports Leagues, Scavenger Hunts, Game Shows, Concerts, Laurelwood Idol and dance socials are popular summer events. Friday nights we dress in white to celebrate Shabbat with services, matzah ball soup and chicken dinner, and a spirited song session.
