Rebecca leading a workshop for ADL (Anti-Defamation League) as part of the Teen Trainer Program at Congregation Beth Israel

CL Spotlight: Rebecca!

This Presidents' Day, we are recognizing a true leader in our community - long time camper and staff member, Rebecca Diaz-Matos.

Last month, Rebecca led a workshop for ADL (Anti-Defamation League) as part of the Teen Trainer Program at Congregation Beth Israel in Hartford and bravely shared how she has experienced antisemitism - dating back to when she was just 10 years old. In this blog post you can read more about her story and how her experience attending Camp Laurelwood helped her to build a stronger connection to Judaism and a supportive community of Jewish friends who she has been able to rely on throughout her life.
