In Memory Of
Verna Brodsky Moidel
Verna Brodsky Moidel was 10 years old when she spent one summer at Camp Laurelwood in 1940. Growing up in a fractured family during challenging times, it was only through a scholarship from the New Haven Federation that provided her the opportunity to attend.
She never forgot her Laurelwood experience, so much so, that she paid that gift forward to her daughter, Jan Moidel Schwartz, who is incredibly grateful to have had Laurelwood as her summer home for 5 years.
Jan believes that expressions of support to Camp Laurelwood's Scholarship Fund, in memory of her mother, who passed away on December 23, 2016, would have made her very happy.
We honor Verna today, and always, and on behalf of the children who will benefit from this fund, we thank you for your support.
